I feel there is still confusion regarding “Copilot” apps in desktop devices, so I decided to put together this quick, visual guide.

Clarifying: Names

Microsoft Copilot is the official name of the free consumer version of Copilot. It requires a personal account to log in (also called an MSA account).

Microsoft 365 Copilot is the official name of the Microsoft 365 Copilot app. It requires a Microsoft 365 account to log in.

Both are available to download from the Microsoft Store (If allowed in your organization).
